Skin tags are common benign growths that often appear around the neck, underarms and other areas of friction. Although harmless, they can become irritated or bothersome and may be removed when appropriate.
Snip Removal
Some skin tags can be removed at the base using sterile surgical instruments. Local anesthetic may be used depending on the size and location.
Electrosurgery
Electrical energy may be used in appropriate cases to treat the tissue and control minor bleeding during removal.
Cryotherapy
Selected skin tags may be treated with liquid nitrogen. The treated tissue then gradually separates as the area heals.
